Corporate Incentive Travel

Put Lisbon next on your incentive hit list…

Lisbon truly is one of Europe’s hidden gems. Over the past 6 months, AOK Events have taken 2 large groups over to the Portuguese capital for amazing incentive trips. The fantastic weather, value for money as well as vast array of hotels, restaurants and activities, have ensured all of our guests have had a blast!

IT’S GREAT VALUE FOR MONEY

Compared to other European cities, Lisbon was the perfect choice for one of our clients when it came to budget.  It’s easily one of the cheapest capital cities in Europe! Hotel rooms average at £72 per night for a 4* hotel and £109 for a 5*, compared with £101 (4*) and £175 (5*) in Barcelona and £159 (4*) and £290 (5*) in Paris! That’s a significant saving! More importantly for some, the cost of a pint of beer in Lisbon costs just £1.39, compared with £3.39 in Barcelona and a whopping £5.39 in Paris.

IT’S CLOSE

The flight time from London to Lisbon is only 2 hours and 20 minutes. All London airports have great departure times – whether you are looking for an early flight to make the most of your incentive or a lunchtime more leisurely start. Transfers the other side are also slick, with the city centre just 20 minutes away.

THERE’S LOADS TO DO

With the city being so compact it meant our groups could sample lots of the activities during their short trips. With the Atlantic on one side of Lisbon, we ran a beach Olympics activity in the morning, whilst in the afternoon guests were free to experience watersports such as sailing and surfing. On the second day, we were less extreme and we arranged for the groups to experience a Portuguese cookery class followed by a wine tour!

THERE’S CULTURE TO SOAK UP

We always suggest clients include some downtime on their incentive travel trips, to allow their more inquisitive guests to explore the area themselves rather than through a jam-packed schedule of activities. Lisbon is so charming and its little cobblestone streets, lovely blue-tiled courtyards and picturesque pastry shops are a must see!

Lisbon is a city hot on the heels of other European favourites

YOU CAN PARTY ALL NIGHT

Lisbon offers a vibrant nightlife scene with Barrio Alto being one of the best districts to head to for a great night out. Our guests tried their best to experience all 250 bars and clubs, however, we think all the daytime activities wore them out!

THE FOOD IS TO DIE FOR

For both trips, we took some exclusive venues within the Docas area, a vibrant part of the city located on the banks of the river, underneath the bridge. Here we explored the trendy restaurants and salsa bars, ideal for your incentive group.

THE LOCALS ARE SO FRIENDLY

We are lucky enough to have fabulous relationships with the local contacts in Lisbon, and in time have established these contacts to ensure our guests were looked after at the various hotels, restaurants, bars and local activities. The locals are amazing and ensured our guests had the time of their lives and made memories that will last a lifetime.

IT’S OPEN YEAR ROUND

Uniquely the best time to go to Lisbon is between Feb and Nov! This huge span is due to its mega 3000 hours of sunlight every year, temperatures reaching over 30 degrees during the hottest months. Our groups stayed away from the summer holidays but still had to pack their swimmers and shades.

THE BEACHES

Lisbon is home to a selection of beautiful sandy beaches. We utilised these on our stay, taking advantage of the vast stretches for our Olympics and well-organised watersports.

PASTEIS DE NATA

Portuguese custard tarts to me and you. And yes, it’s worth going just for these!
